Deerfield Inn
The Deerfield Inn is located in Deerfield, Mass., in Happy Valley, a region known for its bountiful produce, tranquil farmland and friendly townspeople. The inn serves as the centerpiece of Old Deerfield, an unspoiled 330-year old village, and occupies a spot on the city's Old Main Street, which boasts 13 museum houses.
This Federal-style inn was constructed in 1884 by two brothers whose earlier village common inn had been destroyed by fire. The Deerfield Inn uses fresh, naturally-grown produce in its restaurant, with a menu reflecting the change in seasons, and a varied and extensive wine list. Complimentary continental breakfasts are served each morning, and dinner is available Thursday through Monday. The inn offers a tavern, three living rooms and a porch. Pets are not allowed.
Guestrooms are decorated in 19th-century style, and contain private bathrooms with showers. Bathrobes are provided. Cable television and complimentary wireless Internet access are included. Select rooms feature four-poster beds. It is rumored that some rooms, built during the original construction of the house, come with their own ghosts.
