High Pointe Inn
Location. Located in historic West Barnstable, Mass., the High Pointe Inn overlooks Sandy Neck Beach, Cape Cod Bay and the Great Salt Marsh. Sandy Neck Beach, a classic beach stretching six miles along Cape Cod Bay, is two miles from the inn. Whale-watching cruises and fishing charters are available at Barnstable Harbor approximately six miles away.
Features. This Cape Cod style bed and breakfast features a 75-foot deck that runs the full length of the inn. The deck overlooks the property's gardens, which feature an unusual collection of trees and flowers. Full, complimentary breakfasts are served each morning in the dining room or outdoors. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available. Three large common rooms, including the "Williamsburg" dining room, "Gramercy Park" living room and "Palm Beach" great room flow into one another, and are enhanced with candlelight, sofas, a gas fireplace and polished hardwood floors. The inn's common areas include a reference library, guest refrigerator and cable television with a VCR/DVD player. The inn's exercise room contains weights, mats and a treadmill. Beach towels, canvas tote bags, chairs and coolers with bottled water are available for guests to take to the beach. Pets are not allowed.
Guestrooms. All guestrooms at the High Pointe Inn provide panoramic views of the bay or dunes. Reading nooks and writing desks are featured in all units. Guestrooms offer private bathrooms with complimentary Gilchrist and Soames toiletries, including sunscreen. Canopy beds are dressed with 300-thread count linens. CD players are provided.
Expert Tip. The High Pointe Inn dedicates a portion of the room charges to the local Nature Conservancy, which fights to protect the fragile ecosystems of the neighboring Great Salt Marsh and Sandy Neck Beach.
