Rose Arden Bed & Breakfast
Location. Nicknamed "Steeltown" for its industrial roots, Hamilton, Ontario is home to the Rose Arden Bed & Breakfast. Located 25 miles from Toronto and 40 miles from Niagara Falls, this harbor town is set on the westernmost shores of Lake Ontario in Canada. The town in split into "upper" and "lower" sections by the Niagara Escarpment, which runs through the middle of the city. At points the escarpment forms limestone walls 330 feet (100 meters) tall with many waterfalls and creeks falling over it into the city. Hamilton is separated from Lake Ontario by a large, flat sandbar called the Beachstrip.
Hotel Features. A beautiful and historic property, the Rose Arden Bed & Breakfast features an enclosed porch which looks out toward the city, and a private back deck which overlooks a rose garden. Each morning guests are treated to a full, complimentary breakfast. There is a book and video library located on site, and there are daily newspapers for guests' perusal. The inn also has bicycles for guest use.
Guestrooms. Each of the three guestrooms features a VCR, satellite television and high-speed Internet access. All rooms have private baths, and some have jetted tubs. Some rooms have views of the rose garden.
Expert Tip. Just over one mile from the inn, the Royal Botanical Gardens host a number of festivals throughout the year, including the Mediterranean Food and Wine Festival, and the Japanese Flower Society Show. Spread over 3,000 acres, the gardens are home to an Arboretum, and a network of trails and outdoor floral arrangements.
