Solvang Gardens Lodge
The Solvang Gardens Lodge is located on the edge of the old-world, European-style village of Solvang, Calif., in the Santa Ynez Valley. The Elverhøj Museum of History and Art is two blocks away. The lodge is approximately one-half mile from the Santa Ynez River, and shops, restaurants, wine-tasting rooms and bakeries in the village. Wine tours and tastings are available at many wineries within 10 miles of the lodge in the Santa Ynez Valley, where the movie "Sideways" was filmed.
Built in 1950 in the style of a classic Danish farmhouse, the Solvang Gardens Lodge was the first motel in Solvang, Calif. The lodge's gardens offer ponds, and outdoor eating and sitting areas. Complimentary continental breakfasts are provided each morning in the breakfast room. Wine and cheese are offered each evening. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available. The hidden backyard garden features fruit trees and a spa cottage, which offers massages, hot stone therapy and facials for a fee. The lodge provides complimentary use of a nearby fitness center. Pets are not allowed at this property.
